WORD ON THE STREET

User’s News is a magazine written and produced by people who use drugs, for people who use drugs! To highlight that anyone can be an advocate for harm reduction, and in the vein of “by us, for us”, we reached out to our supporters on social media about what were their personal best tips for looking after themselves at music festivals and other parties. Here are some of the things your peers suggested to avoid burning out and to make sure that you get the most out of your festival season.

Plan your day/ weekend but don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do everything you planned
— Acacia
Putting a berocca in with your beer
— Jonno
Eat well, get some sleep, don’t booze. Take some time to go for a walk away from the D floor. Sometimes that few moments of peace from the noise can really recharge you.
— Litia
Earplugs are great for when you’re sleeping to let your body switch off a bit.
— Steven
Don’t skip meals, take a magnesium supplement, and charge the electrolytes!
— Rob
Always have a space that’s your own – I create a tent haven. So, when everything gets too much you can have your own space with things that make you happy in it.
— Vera
